"New York's great storytellers have a lot in common with the city's anthology of superheroes—one-in-a-million rare, celebrated in perpetuum, and usually the product of character-defining experiences that they endured and ultimately came out on top of. The same guy could become Batman or Norman Mailer. You might as well be somebody."

Deriving their name from hip hop mag XXL's annual new talent issue, the Freshman Class crew returns to Bowery Poetry Club to tackle the millennial concept of “the hook-up generation” and to unpack the modern New York relationship in a series of poems, essays, monologues, and freestyle bars.

Featuring David Acosta, David Potters, Neil Tyrone Pritchard, Kai Williams, and more TBA

Admission: $10 online, $15 at the door
