Poet and professor of English at Barnard college Peggy R Ellsberg has edited a new anthology of the poetry and prose of Gerard Manley Hopkins, the great experimental poet and Jesuit priest.(introduction by Dana Gioia, poet laureate of California). This new collection is called The Gospel in Gerard Manley Hopkins, and is published by Plough. A group of New York poets and critics will help launch the book on Sunday afternoon, march 5, at 3:30, at The Bowery Poetry Club, by reading short passages from Hopkins' poetry and prose.
Please come and bring all your Hopkins-loving friends. Books will be sold at the event, attendance is free, and as always, there will be a cash bar.
