Warscapes magazine launches a dynamic series: Warscapes / Readings. Challenging mainstream misrepresentations of people and places that experience staggering violence around the world, Warscapes features poets and writers working at intersections of art, politics, literature, and activism. Likewise, Warscapes / Readings highlights an array of voices with a unique understanding of complex political and social crises embodied in powerful poetry. Current and previous contributors to the magazine come together for an afternoon of reading poetry, conversation, and debate. With an inaugural season that features Meena Alexander, Ali Jimale Ahmed, Charles Cantalupo, and Annmarie Drury, Warscapes / Readings opens an unprecedented forum for the literature of war and peace to be heard.
