SAMANTHA THORNHILL (www.samanthaspeaks.com) is a globe-trotting writer and performer. A poetry graduate of University of Virginia’s Masters in Fine Arts program, for the past decade she has taught poetry and performance to drama students at the Juilliard School. She's published children’s books with Simon & Schuster and Scholastic Inc., and her poems have appeared in numerous literary journals. She is currently co-directing a documentary film project, Daddy’s Glass House, about the daughters of incarcerated America. She is a founding curator of the group Poets in Unexpected Places, which the New York Times profiled in April 2013. A native of Trinidad & Tobago, she has presented at universities, conferences, and festivals from South Africa to Hungary. She lives in Brooklyn.
