BugHouse SPINS in the City

Sun, 18 May 2014 // 08:30 PM
Bowery Poetry, 308 Bowery, NYC (map)

Theme: Reworked, Refried & Cooked....

For this special Sunday night SPIN at the Bowery Poetry Club, 6 SPINNERS re-visit the BugHouse stage to re-work something old, unveil another chapter or cook up something totally new.

That's right folks, things change...stories, venues, dates, post-spin discussions. The only thing that hasn't changed is we all need to eat stories. And isn't every meal better with good questions, opinions, laughter and debate?

Still hosted by Martha Williams (BugHouse SPIN) & Makram Hamdan (49B Studios), we have a fully cooked lineup...

Bob Holman, Poet | HOW WE MET Greg Johnson, Producer/Writer | SUNDAYS Will Lee, Writer/Performer | TAPPING THE UNCONCIOUS TO RELEASE CREATIVITY Mariah MacCarthy, Playwright | POSTPARTUM UNDRESSIN' Jef Taylor, Filmmaker | MY FIRST 24 HOURS IN MEXICO Martha Williams, Filmmaker (with Brittany McDonald, Nia Witts, Rachel Whiteman, Veronica Cooper) | INTERVENTION INTERVENTION

Sunday May 18, 8:30 - 10:30 (maybe 11) Spinning starts promptly at 8:30 / followed by post-spin discussion $10

Where: Bowery Poetry Club @ Duane Park 308 Bowery (between Bleecker and Houston)

The BugHouse SPIN is the brainchild of writer/director Martha Williams and grew out of desire to craft a community of thinkers & makers for the purpose of inspiring good times, intellectual growth and the actualization of budding projects. Too often, the “gold” of post-story conversation floats like gold dust, un-captured and useless and giving us a very expensive gold-based cough. We believe directed debate and difficult conversations are integral to life’s sweet evolution.

The BugHouse SPIN has been hosted by 49BSTUDIOS for it's first season! Thank you!

Who is 49BSTUDIOS? Founded by Makram Hamdan, 49B Studios is a loft space located in the heart of Bushwick's vibrant art scene. 49B curates public events, exhibitions, screenings. The space also offers comfortable, affordable housing for visiting artists coming to the New York area for workshops, internships, gallery exhibitions, and scheduled performances.
