Montreal/New York: a Poetry/Music Exchange

Sun, 02 March 2014 // 08:30 PM
Bowery Poetry, 308 Bowery, NYC (map)

Ian Ferrier is a Canadian poet, musician and spoken word artist whose work mixes whispered and spoken words with music and other media. In this show he makes a rare US appearance to perform beside Brahja Waldman, an inventive, lyrical New York-based saxophonist who regularly works with Beat legend Anne Waldman. Brahja and Ian got to know each other in the Montreal poetry and jazz scene, often performing in the same clubs and on the same stage. In tonight’s concert each will showcase some of his most recent work, Ferrier as a solo artist and Waldman with percussionist Will Glass, one of his NYC collaborators.
