KATHY ENGEL ( is a poet, a teacher, a communications / strategic planning consultant, a producer for social justice, peace and human rights organizations, and the mother of two daughters. Her poetry, essays, and reviews have been published in numerous magazines and newspapers, including The Nation online, Pleaides, The Iowa Review, The East Hampton Star, Vandal, Poet Lore. She is currently a full time faculty member at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Art & Public Policy Program and also teaches in NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

ALEXIS DE VEAUX, Ph. D. (, is a poet, playwright, short fiction writer, essayist and biographer whose work is nationally and internationally known. Born and raised in Harlem, New York City, Ms. De Veaux is published in five languages-English, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese and Serbo-Croatian. In 2007 she was awarded a “Literary Legacy Award” from Just Buffalo Literary Center for her lifetime commitment to literature and literary advocacy. Ms. De Veaux is currently at work on a novel.

CARRIE FOULKES ( is a London-based poet and artist. She is currently working as the gallery manager for Daniel Blau photography gallery and studying for an interdisciplinary MA in Poetic Practice at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her artistic practice incorporates poetry, sound, collage, and drawing, and she self-publishes a chapbook series. She has recently been awarded a Cove Park Fellowship and will be a poet in residence at Cove Park in Scotland this September.

TOM CASESA ( is a New York based musician, artist and entrepreneur. He grew up listening to jazz, boogie woogie piano, rock and classic country music. He plays piano and more recently picked up the melodica, a portable, drag-around-Mantattanable, air powered keyboard. Some of his influences are the Beatles, John Lennon, Hank Williams Sr., Bob Dylan, Dave McKenna, Oscar Peterson, and Ray Charles. He is a great fan of improvising.
