BRITISH POETRY INVASION…

Ft. Poets John Cooper Clarke, Nathaniel Watts & his band The Second Coming of Love, and your host Nikhil Melnechuk.

Bowery's Premier Poetry Night, with the best OPEN MIC, Featured Poets, and Music in NYC. Vote for your favorite poem to be published online at www.thepoetinnewyork.com.

JOHN COOPER CLARKE (http://johncooperclarke.com) is Britain’s best loved and most important performance poet. John is as vital now as he was in the 70s; His biting, satirical, political and very funny verse, delivered in a unique rapid-fire performance style, resonated with the punk movement. JCC toured with all the seminal bands; The Sex Pistols, The Clash & Buzzcocks, and in the USA with Elvis Costello. He began to draw large crowds in his own right. Joy Division were proud to frequently support JCC and New Order later opened for him on their first Australian tour.

Nathaniel Watts will be appearing in support of his book Everyday Writing: A Deconstruction of the Human Hive. It's a release that keeps building momentum as its author continues to spread the Wattage at open mics everywhere. People often praise Nathaniel for seeming as if he's a beat writer abducted from the 50's and brought to the 21st Century in an attempt to develop a coherent understanding of these times. Oh, and they also think he's a freak (at least they better).

The Second Coming of Love is Jason Briggs and Eddie Donoghue. Inspired by such performers as Syd Barrett and Arthur Lee as well as bands like Amon Duul, Psychic TV and Sonic Youth do expect to escape the confines of the supposed reality that surrounds.

$10 admission at the door. Come at 8:30 to sign up for the OPEN MIC.
