CONTRARIWISE is a philosophy journal by students of Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science & Engineering in New York City. Filled with essays, poems, stories, dialogues, letters, and other pieces on topics ranging from the Book of Job to the happiness of chickens, CONTRARIWISE has delighted and inspired readers around the world.

The National Council of Teachers of English rated the first issue “Superior—Nominated for Highest Award” in its annual contest for student literary magazines. For the second issue, the editors-in-chief held an international contest; the authors of the winning pieces hail from England, Italy, Turkey, China, and the U.S, and the topic joins political philosophy with cuisine. The event—in celebration of the second issue—will feature readings, skits, philosophical questions, and various surprises.
