The Intima presents “Life Writing: Innervations,” a night of prose, poetry and performances aboutnarrative medicine from contributors published in the Fall 2015 issue

The Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine continues its partnership with Bowery Arts+Science to present the 4th installment in its Life Writing series with live readings of original work published in the Fall 2015 issue. This event, Innervations, focuses on experiences that stimulate both the heart and the mind, asking listeners to find connections between themselves and the stories they hear. Highlighting narratives of illness, health, caregiving, the body, and interpersonal relationships, the works shared will range in genre from fiction and poetry to non-fiction and memoir. This format encourages the authors to read their work aloud, share a brief explanation of the inspiration for the piece and also to participate in an interactive Q&A with the audience.
