Walad and Bowery Arts and Science Presents: Dialect-ics

Sun, 13 March 2016 // 08:30 PM
Bowery Poetry, 308 Bowery, NYC (map)

Dialect-ics seeks to explore different modes of expressing personal narratives in various styles, forms and dialects to reckon with multiple representations of experience. The event brings together a cast of writers and artists of various backgrounds, disciplines, and dialects. This bricolage of style and language reflects the vast array of experience in New York City with all its underlying contradictions; questions of identity and language, alienation and belonging, the personal and the political are rendered poetically. It also sets the stage for interdisciplinary and inter-linguistic experimentation, collaboration, and nurturing of collective experience.
