A workshop with Sparrow! One trick of good writing is to make every word count. Minimalist poetry is the perfect way to cultivate this talent. Very short poems can catch the reader by surprise, evoking laughter, pathos, or bruised shock. Most of us are familiar with haiku, but there are numerous minimal styles that are closer to the lives we live. Sparrow, who has spent years experimenting with the eight-word poem, will offer advice and exercises.
