NYC's Poetry Open Mic.

Featuring Spanish poet Marcos De la Fuente, with jazz by Duo Aquiles Navarro & Tcheser Holmes, and your host Nikhil Melnechuk.

MARCOS DE LA FUENTE, a poet and cultural shaker, was born in Vigo, Spain. Read to Cortazar, Miller, Salinger or Nietzsche. In 1994 he goes to Salamanca, and is in this city where his fondness for jazz and poetry wakes up. He leaves Salamanca in 1999 to meet world: Namur (Belgium), Madrid, Lisbon and Ibiza. In the mediterranean island he brings poetry to the radio and collaborates with musicians and producers of the local scene. Salamanca again in 2002, where he wrote for radio and press, and gives numerous recitals of poetry and music, forming an active part of Salamanca's cultural scene. In 2008 returns to Vigo and, with designer Vanesa Alvarez, opens the club La Fiesta de los Maniquíes, where he organizes and participate in recitals, concerts and poetic actions, including Festival Kerouac Vigo, now in its 6th year. In 2015 he published "The Shining Particles", that seeks to engage the reader with a humanist message and speak about revolution, love and vital drive.
