"Writers With Attitude" is a creative writing workshop based in New York, NY. The workshop is free to the public with a reservation. We read works from diverse authors, share ideas and give observations on each other’s writing. We aim to become more prolific and find our voice within our writing through various styles. We operate like a college workshop, without the boring professor. W.W.A is many things, but we are also not a lot of things.
We are not a college course; you will not receive college credit. But, you will also pay no tuition or fee because the workshop is completely FREE. The workshop is open for anyone ages 18+. We focus on fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry and essays. Consistency is important in the workshop to grow as a writer. Assignments are due each session, whether it’s reading a short story or article, or writing a poem from a prompt.
And most importantly, W.W.A is a safe space for all members. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and gender. We understand writing is a personal form of art and we respect every member and their work as we would want our work to be respected.
At the end of each year, we publish an issue of our literary magazine, LUNA with the writers in the workshop. Last year, our theme was Metamorphosis. This year, our theme for the workshop and literary magazine is New York. We will read NY writers, stories, articles, and everything in between!
